What Propology love about Red Gables and Cresswell:

Red Gables is a handsome house and the location just adds to the appeal. Of course we love a beach house but this one offers more than just your average nautical bolt hole. We love the secluded garden with the sheltered living areas, the private gym and home offices. This is a home that offers a peaceful and rejuvenating lifestyle.

Set on the southern edge of Druridge Bay is Cresswell beach. The sandy beach here is one of the best on the Northumberland coast. The gently sloping sand is backed by extensive sand dunes and can seem to go on forever at low tide with rock pools to explore any time of the year.

Cresswell is an unspoiled coastal gem with around 90 properties in the village and has a great historical past. The ancient Pele tower stands beside the village in sight of the shore. It is well preserved from the outside and has a history going back three hundred years.

There’s a quaint Ice cream shop, an old fashioned delight,  also selling fishing nets and pocket money toys, perfect for beachy adventures. The dog friendly Drift Cafe is set in a fabulous location on the edge of the dunes with ample car parking.

A magnificent seven mile-stretch of beach running from Amble in the north, with its bustling harbour and shops, south to Cresswell, where the Northumberland Coast Path begins. As well as the glorious sweep of beach, there’s also the 100 acre Ladyburn Lake fringed by woodland and meadows.

Teeming with wildlife, Druridge Bay has several nature reserves tucked behind its dunes. As well as the Country Park, Cresswell is a great base to spot resident and migrating birds including graylag, pink-footed geese, and grasshopper warbler.

This stunning stretch of coastline is a magnet for dog walkers, horse riders, cyclists, runners and water sport enthuiasts.  A hit with the surfing community too, whatever your preference, there’s something for everyone.
